Emily and Conor's Wedding

This past Saturday was a day filled with love for Emily and Conor on their special wedding day. The Powell Productions team had a blast shooting their wedding at a beautiful church and reception location at the Annapolis Marriott Waterfront. The weather held out for their wedding, thankfully, which allowed us to get some great shots both inside and outside of the church. We filmed the wedding from two different angles, which I prefer to do so I can film the family and friends from the front and back of the church simultaneously. This allows for optimal editing techniques, especially of the bride and groom. The wedding party was beautiful, and the bride even more stunning.

Since the reception was held close to water, I was able to shoot some great footage of the Bay Bridge area. There is something extra peaceful about being by the water, which I think will add a unique touch to their wedding footage. Their reception was also filled with high energy, and I thoroughly enjoyed filming each aspect of their party. Man their family and friends can dance! What a fun loving family!

Overall, I know we filmed some excellent footage, and I can hardly wait to start editing and piecing their love story together.

Holly and Tim's Wedding

The Gaydos' wedding could not have taken place on a better day. The weather was gorgeous, the bride even more beautiful, and everyone was filled with enthusiasm. I was more than excited to film this wedding as I have known Holly's family ever since Holly was a little girl. To capture one of the most important moments in Holly's life on video forever was an incredible honor.

The Powell Productions team prepared the night before the Gaydos' wedding at their wedding rehearsal. We scoped out the best locations for our cameras to capture the most ideal shots while remaining out of the way. That is something very important to me- that our videographers stay in the background while getting the best shots possible. Our hard work paid off, because on the actual wedding day, we were able to quickly set up, perform our equipment tests, and get the cameras rolling with no problems.

Prior to the actual wedding ceremony, I headed to Holly's home, at her request, to film her getting ready with her bridesmaids. I was happy that Holly requested this because I got some excellent clips of Holly getting her hair done, getting her wedding gown on, and her mother putting her jewelry on. My other videographers were sent to film the groom and his groomsmen getting ready. Then we were off to the church to record the main event.

We filmed the entire wedding ceremony from two different angles- the front of the church to capture everyone coming down the aisle- and from the back of the church to capture the back of Holly's wedding gown and everyone in front of the altar. The reception was filmed at the Musket Ridge Golf Club. We shot the reception from two different angles as well. All in all, we all had a very eventful evening, and I was pleased with the footage we were able to capture. After the wedding I reviewed the footage and made a list of my favorite shots and shots I want to make sure to capture at future weddings. I am always thinking of new ways to shoot footage and scenes I want to make sure to get on film.

For Holly's wedding montage I took several different audio clips from the pastor's message and pieced them together with classical music playing in the background to the most memorable wedding clips. I have a short sample of a montage on our Powell Productions Website that features some wedding clips of Holly and Tim with their wedding vows playing in the background. After Holly viewed her full montage and the small montage clip on our website, she called me very excited and pleased. Holly's mother, June, called me in tears she was so happy. This made my night for sure!
